I bought Wind Song at an auction in Channel Islands Harbor for $1500. She was a reasonably nice boat that sold in one day for $3000. It had been a while since I pulled off an old school boat deal but this one was successful. For me turning $1500 into $3000 in one day is pretty good business. I wish I could do it more often but it is becoming more difficult to get good deals on sailboats and more difficult to sell any kind of boat.
